ICONIC PEAKS

Le Chamossaire – Highest view point in Villars
Towering above the resort of Villars, the Grand Chamossaire offers a breathtaking panoramic view – from Mont Blanc to Lake Geneva, including the Dents du Midi and the Bernese Alps.
At the summit, don’t miss the Cabane des Sens – a suspended sensory cabin perched above the void, offering a unique experience that blends sight, sound, imagination, and vertigo.
During July, the artist Saype will be drawing a natural fresco visible from the summit.
How to get there:
-
From Villars, take the train to Bretaye, then ride the Grand Chamossaire chairlift.
-
Alternatively, hike up from the top of the Roc d’Orsay gondola (about 45 minutes on foot - for good hikers).

Croix des Chaux – A summit between sky and valley
Nestled between Gryon and Taveyanne, the summit of Croix des Chaux offers breathtaking 360° views of the Vaud Alps, the Dents du Midi, the Rhône Valley, and even Mont Blanc on a clear day.
Surrounded by cliffs and alpine meadows, it’s a peaceful spot for a scenic break, a picnic, or simply to spot marmots playing in the grass.
Access:
- From Gryon or Taveyanne, the summit can be reached in about 1h15 to 1h30 on well-marked trails through forests and alpine pastures (approx. 450 m elevation gain).
- Proper footwear and moderate fitness are recommended to enjoy this scenic hike to the top.
