The artist Saype returns to Villars

This summer, artist Saype returns to Villars to create two new monumental artworks in the heart of the Vaud Alps.

Following several remarkable projects in recent years, the artist will once again transform the Villars landscape with two ephemeral frescoes created directly in nature. The first artwork will be located on L’Aiguille, visible from Roc d’Orsay, while the second will be created at the Villars Golf Course, visible from the Golf Restaurant.

When art meets the mountains

Internationally renowned for his giant frescoes painted on grass, soil, sand or even snow, Saype uses natural spaces as his canvas. Through each of his creations, he highlights the fragility of our societies, the bonds that connect us, and the challenges we collectively face.

Displayed around the world, his works invite reflection, dialogue and contemplation. Their monumental scale contrasts with their ephemeral nature, creating a unique artistic experience in harmony with the environment.

Designed to be ephemeral

Created to blend harmoniously into their surroundings, Saype’s artworks are by nature temporary. They will remain visible for several weeks before gradually fading due to weather conditions and natural vegetation.

This ephemeral dimension is an integral part of Saype’s artistic approach. It invites viewers to see landscapes differently and to reflect on our relationship with nature.

A universal message through art

Through his monumental frescoes, Saype addresses themes such as solidarity, transmission, coexistence and collective responsibility. His work is now recognized far beyond Switzerland and has been presented in many cities and natural sites around the world.

Each artwork is designed as an invitation to dialogue and reflection, while offering a spectacular visual experience in an exceptional natural setting.
