Beautiful ridge hike, between the Grand and Petit Chamossaire, the trail guides you along wooden edelweiss scattered throughout the route. With a bit of luck, you might spot a chamois, an ibex, or even an edelweiss!
The itinerary, sometimes exposed, offers magnificent views of the Lac de Bretaye below, as well as the Bernese and Valais Alps, and even up to the Mont Blanc massif.

Getting There
The adventure begins at the top of the Grand Chamossaire chairlift.
- You can reach it by taking the cogwheel train from Villars to Bretaye, followed by the Grand Chamossaire chairlift.
- Alternatively, take the Roc d'Orsay gondola and hike up to the summit of Grand Chamossaire (+45' /+130m elevation gain).
The trail starts at the summit and gently winds its way down to the Col de Bretaye, offering stunning views all along the way.
